I’m still alive!

Oh…. Teacher Friends!
So, I made it through my first week of school. Meet the teacher was Tuesday night and I greeted 22 smiling first graders on Wednesday morning for our first day of school.  It was a great 3 days.  Everything went smoothly and my sweeties are super cute, fun and polite! It’s a great bunch and I’m really excited to have lots of fun this year.  I am seriously exhausted though! I totally missed the whole teacher week fun and feel like I’ve seriously neglected this blog, my house and my hubby, this week.  But I think I’m getting caught up and ready to roll through this new year.

This week we did some cute getting to know you activities and discussed rules. We also did our annual Kissing Hand Hunt. The kids have a blast looking for Chester while getting familiar with our school. Besides, the hunt ends back at our room where they always find Chester has left some super delicious cookies! Check out or first week fun below.

Aren’t my students adorable?

In addition to being the first week of school, this past week provided lots of changes. For the time being, I am only authoring at this blog. I will no longer be posting at TBA, so please just follow me on this little spot on the web! Also, several clipart artists have changed their terms of use and are requiring licenses, etc.  So, I am in the process of contacting all artists and making an easy to read chart of what is and what is not allowed by each artist.  Until then, you will notice that lots of my freebies are missing.  I have to abide by their terms and I’m working on finding images that are both adorable and have limited terms.

In my quest for cute clipart, DeeDee Wills of Mrs. Wills Kindergarten shared this artist’s work. Besides, her name is Kirsten McGrath and her store is called Digital Doodles. She is a teacher herself and her graphics are so flippin’ adorable. She allows selling and sharing and her sets are affordable as well. In fact she is currently running a sale!

Plus use the promotional code TEACHER for 10% off your entire order!

I just happened to purchase several sets of Kirsten’s today and made this little book for my book center next week.  We’ll be reviewing colors, so when I saw this cute clipart I couldn’t resist.

I hope you all had a great week if you are back to teaching. And if you aren’t teaching yet, get some sleep.  Believe me you’ll be exhausted like the rest of us soon!

  1. I'm just curious.. do you ask parents permission to post their kids pictures on your blog? (I only ask b/c I'm a teacher with super cute kids, too!)

  2. Love the cookies, they are really cute! Thanks for sharing the clip art find, I love Etsy for clip art. When I clicked over, the items say for personal use only…does that mean we have to purchase the commercial license or maybe that doesn't apply to educators since she is a teacher as well? Thanks!
