Hey Friends!
I hope you all are having a fantastic summer and for those of you not out yet, I feel for ya! I have a million posts planned for this summer, as well as five thousand projects on my plate, but I’m going to take a deep breath and try to get it all done.
Did I want to show you my latest little toy? Yes! How sweet is this?
Yep! It’s a Cameo by Silhouette and it’s my dream machine. Especially this year, since I took down all my monsters and I’m going just plain primary! So I’m creating all my own classroom decor minus border. So far I’ve created these for my calendar area. I found chipboard with three hole punches, perfect for ribbon. I covered it in this cute primary paper and then added vinyl cut from my new Cameo. The best part about the Cameo is you can cut any font you have on your computer. This is actually a font I created.
I love it!
I don’t have a traditional school paper calendar because I’m a little bit crazy about my classroom, but I have one of these.
I’m so OCD though, that if my handwriting for the numbers isn’t perfect, I rewrite it (like 500 times). Please tell me you all do crazy stuff like this too. So for next year I created these matching number magnets.
To make them, I bought these from Hobby Lobby:
They are great because the are sticky on the back. So I cut 1 inch circles on my Cameo from the matching scrapbook paper, then I stuck the paper directly onto the sticky side. Then I took white vinyl and cut the numbers out on my Cameo. I attached the numbers, added a magnet to the back and there you have it!
I also made this. I’m going to put our school rules underneath in cute frames I’m decorating. 🙂
I found these the other day at Target and couldn’t resist. I’m going to be cutting vinyl to decorate and adding ribbon, then these will be my table buckets for the year.
Since I’m a Target junky I also found these. Sorry for the terrible picture quality, but they were in the kiddy craft aisle. They are perfect for signs in your classroom. I’m going to be using my new toy to decorate them and replace the ribbon with something much cuter. I’ll share that later.
Finally, I found this at Hobby Lobby.
I could certainly create and print a banner, but I love the layered look and I’m so excited to cut on my Cameo. The back of the package gives you all sorts of ideas. I’m super excited to make a cute classroom banner or two.
If you don’t have a Cameo, I certainly suggest buying one. They are so much fun to use and so practical. There are no cartridges to buy, you can simply purchase the images you like online and you can use all of your own fonts. Plus it has an awesome print and cut feature. The best part of the whole machine! You can learn about it in this video below.
Cameo is offering teachers a special discount. To check it out you can click here.
If you have a Cameo, I’d love to see what you’ve made with it or if you have any advice or suggestions. I’m having lots of fun creating.
I’ll be back with more crafting, freebies and probably more fonts soon!

I'm so jealous. I love all your projects. Now to get the husband to buy me a Cameo :-). Thanks for sharing!
Oh my goodness girl!!! You are so crafty. I've been debating about getting a Cameo for awhile, but wasn't sure if I'd use it enough. You may convince me I'm wrong 😉

Your creations make me want a Cameo, but I already have 2 Cricuts, a Cuttlebug, and a Bind-It-All. There's barely room for those. When I saw the paper you used for your calendar, I had to show my grand-daughter. She likes that paper on my Daily 5 notebook. When she saw the numbers, she squealed, "That's my favorite. It gots numbers!" 😉
The Cameo sounds like it's an awesome machine. I'll be blog stalking your blog, while resisting temptation. Lol!
I love my Silhouette! I would never buy a Cricket where you had to buy cartridges! It is the most amazing machine out there! I just got the Cameo to replace my SD and love it even more!
This looks amazing! Just wondering where you got your vinyl. Did you get it directly from the Silhouette people or did you find it cheaper somewhere else? I have ordered a Cameo but I forgot to order any vinyl. Thanks for your help!

I love my silhouette! I got it last Christmas. I've learned that Oracal vinyl is the best. I buy all of mine at Craftvinyl.com or Expressions Vinyl. The Silhouette brand is not nearly as good (and it's way more expensive!) Don't forget to download the shape of the week. It's always free!

Thanks for helping me with my decision to get a Cameo!!!! I tried to see about the educator discount but it keeps telling me there is a problem with the site. What's the educator's price? Every month either Brown Paper Packages blog or Eighteen 25 runs a promotion. Until June 28th it's a Cameo and the Rhinestone Kit for $269.99. I'm trying to see if the educator's discount is better. Thanks for the inspiration!
Cute Cute ….here's a link to My Cameo info post, a blog friend of mine got a Cameo (among other blogging friends) so I decided to post what I knew into one post. (Btw the jessica sprague sale has been extended to July 1st) 🙂 I have a billion projects going…..home and school…Love my Cameo…..I agree about Silhouette vinyl…stinks…expressions rocks!

Don't have a Cameo, but have a couple of Cricuts. Just made some things last night which put me in the "mood" to keep using it. My husband came in the basement and couldn't believe that I was making letters for school already. Can't wait to see what you do!! Have fun~

I love the white pail. You said you got it at Target? What department and how much? I would like to use them as my table supplies as well. Thanks! Beth
I got them in the picnic and seasonal stuff. They 9.99. They are also available online. They are called utensil caddies.
I am ordering one when my summer school money arrives in two weeks!! WOOOHOOO! I can't wait! I have a Cricut and I love it, but am looking forward to be able to cut fonts from my computer and svg files!
