Adding Some Spice!

Let’s do a BIG happy dance. A little teacher named “me”, is on Spring Break! Oh how I love those words.  Well, enough about my need for sanity…on to the randomness!

   1. I now have a Smart Board in my room! A while ago my bloggy friend Kristen Walsky posted about this wonderful site: The Smart Lesson Stop.  I bought their April Calendar and few other lessons. They are wonderful and I highly recommend them.  My kids loved calendar time today.
    2.  I gave my students the graphic organizer from my rabbit unit. They used it to write stories about themselves as a rabbit. Then I took their pictures with their hats and tails for The Bunny Hokey Pokey. Here is what they made:

   3. I have some very favorite fifth graders who help me every afternoon. They are adorable and I can remember when they were just precious peanuts in my first grade class. They decided they wanted to have an Easter egg hunt for my kiddos. Here are some pictures from our happy hunt! How sweet are they?

Well- I guess that’s enough random for one day.  I’m off to spend the rest of the night with one of my favorite men. It’s movie night. Popcorn, Tangled and snuggling! Who could ask for anything more?

  1. Check out the "Smart Exchange" website and search for free calendars. Therre are so many to browse through. What I did was I picked a slide or two from different ones to compile an entire routine that I like. We do calendar, weather, days of the week, and counting to 100, songs daily. I have weather.com linked to our city and we check that every day when we discuss weather. My kindergarten kids love it and have learned so much about specific weather words this year from that. (Flurries, showers, etc.)
