Our Last Day of School

It was the last day of school and this fool forgot her camera! What was I thinking?  I wanted to take pictures of my kiddos playing with their signed frisbees, holding their adorable 1st grade scrapbooks I made each of them and post one last class pic! I swear this past few weeks have gotten the best of me.  Maybe it’s this darn diet I’m on. No food gets a girl a little loopy. Or it may be because my whole family is sick. It seriously sounds like an infirmary here! Good grief. I guess there is no looking back, just forward.

I  will say, the last day of school brings mixed emotions.  I’m so excited to spend time with my adorable boys, take some vacations and partake in some pool time.  On the other hand, some of the sweetest students I’ve ever known graduated and are moving on to our Junior High.  I will miss them so.  And those adorable notes about how you are their favorite teacher and parent notes about how much you’ve made a difference in their child’s life just melt your heart on days like this.

A perk about the last day are those terrific teacher gifts. Let me tell you this girl got some great gift cards. I have such kind parents.  And you have to check out the adorable cookie bouquet one of the moms made me.  Can we say talented?
(Notice the meds behind the cookies-Told you! Walgreens Pharmacy loves me right now)

  1. Wow– that is so creative! I am sorry you and your family have been fighting illnesses! What a rotten time of year for that to happen! Our last day with students was yesterday and I spent today finishing paperwork and packing up the classroom. I go in tomorrow to finish the packing so that I can switch classrooms. Have a great summer!

  2. Stop! First of all, you're making me laugh, and you're making me jealous. Since I received nothing for Christmas or Teacher Appreciation, I don't look forward to getting anything for the last day.

Like you, I can look forward to spending time with my family, and getting some pool time, with a good book. By good book, I mean Math Work Stations of course. LOL!

Are those cookies part of your diet? Should I send you my address, so I can help a sista' out? 😉

  3. Girl- I'm telling you. There is nothing on my diet. If I eat one more piece of chicken, celery or egg, I might puke. You know how bad I want to take a bite of those cookies! I was passing them out to the neighbors tonight so I wouldn't be tempted. I've lost 12 pounds and I think one of those things would put it all back on me. Bring on the address. See if you don't get a stale cookie in the mail 🙂 LOL!
