Yesterday was Talk Like a Pirate Day.  My pirate units are some of my favorite units I’ve created.  I always look forward to our two weeks of pirate fun.  The first unit is a pirate themed map unit that also includes centers and a craft. And my Pirate Shared Reading unit includes many common core reading activities.

I also love this book and so do my kiddos.

Here are some activities we completed last year.

In addition to these units I also have some pirate freebies in my store. You can check them out below.

This week we read Mrs. Wishy Washy’s Farm. We talked about how the characters changed in this story as well as chose our favorite characters.  Students had to give a specific reason from the text as to why they liked that character.
We also learned all about farms this week. Here is our anticipation guide.

And here are a few of our farm centers this week.

When I’m not working, blogging, cooking, cleaning or shopping, I’m watching baseball. Lots and lots of baseball and I love every minute, because my favorite players are my sweet boys.  Drew is quite the baseball player.

 And Landon…well, he’s something.

And Gussy likes to watch too.

 So proud!

Speaking of fall… Decorating my house for this season is my favorite. I’ll be buying our mums tomorrow and can’t wait to head to the pumpkin patch to complete our porch.
