Did y’all have a good Valentine’s Day? We had lots of fun this past week. This week we combined Valentine’s Day with economics. We’ve adopted the new Ohio Social Studies standards and now have to teach some very specific economics standards, so I created a unit.
Here are a few preview pics, but it includes much more.
Here are my kiddos purchasing goods (decorations) for their Valentine bags. They were each given Cupid Cash to purchase the items. Due to scarcity, some items were sold out before they got to shop. They totally understood economics better than I would have ever imagined after this week.
They loved it!
If you are wondering about the mustaches, my kiddos received them with their Valentines.
It’s not our customary first grade attire.
My kiddos also made cute Valentine Scrapbooks courtesy of Jen Jones.
and we did some great math activities from Abby’s Sweetheart Snatcher.
We also made this adorable craft from Sarah’s Sweetheart Snack.
So that’s last week. I’ll give you a peek into next soon.
Because I posted my Economics Unit late, it is on sale through Monday.
So grab it if you need a fun way to teach this not so easy concept.
